Dawn Martin, DVM
Dr. Martin grew up in Western Pennsylvania where she started working in veterinary medicine as a 16 year old. She is a 1990 graduate of The Ohio State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine which she describes as the best 4 years of her life, combining her love of learning, medicine and animals. As a senior student, Dr. Martin was awarded the Small Animal Medicine Award, and the Ray S. Smiley Award for outstanding character given by the clinical staff at the college. She completed an internship at the College of Veterinary Medicine at Washington State University in 1991.
Dr. Martin practiced around the country including the states of Washington, California, and Florida before settling in the Carolinas. She loves the combination of animal personalities, medicine, solving puzzling cases and seeing the humor in life’s many challenges.
Dr. Martin is happiest practicing veterinary medicine, but in what free time she has, Dr. Martin also enjoys horseback riding, golf, reading, skiing with her nieces and nephews, and spending time with her cats, dogs and horses.

Narvice – Customer Service Representative
Narvice is from Pineville, NC, and has joined us after an eighteen-year long career in the real estate business. She has a passion for working with animals, which stems from her previous experience in the veterinary field and many years of pet sitting. Narvice is a proud owner of a Pit Bull pup named Biggie Smalls, whom she spoils with love. When she’s not working, she enjoys kayaking, traveling, and spending time with her loved ones.
Jessica – Customer Service Representative
Jessica was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut and moved to Fort Mill, South Carolina at the age of 7. She’s always had a love for animals and wanted to work in the veterinary field since a young age. Jessica started working in the field during high school and graduated from Clemson University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal and Veterinary Sciences. She lives at home with her best friend Titan, her 13-year-old blue pit bull, and Squirt, her box turtle. When not at work Jessica enjoys spending time with Titan, her family, playing video games, and watching TV.
Leigh - Customer Service Representative
Leigh is originally from Ohio and started her career in veterinary medicine at Angels for Animals in Canfield in 2011. She and her husband moved to Charlotte, North Carolina in early 2024 after spending 12 years in Houston, Texas. A lifelong animal lover, Leigh has taken care of a variety of pets including birds, fish, hamsters, Guinea Pigs and rabbits. She currently has two rescue pets; a cat named Lucy-Fur and a dog named Zuul. In her spare time, Leigh enjoys watching movies, reading, playing cards, singing karaoke, and taking Zuul for walks.
Mya – Veterinary Nurse
Mya was born and raised in Pineville, Mya has had a love for animals her whole life and is Narvice’s daughter. Her love of working with people and animals makes her a great fit. The most rewarding part of veterinary medicine is hands-on nursing care and helping the animals recover after injury, surgery, or illness. Mya also has a passion for preventative care and dental cleanings. She enjoys traveling, trying new foods, and spending time with her daughter, Nora, her Pit Bull named Ophelia, her Blue Lynx, Tybalt, and her Doodle, May.
Michelle – Kennel Manager
Michelle was raised in Michigan and relocated to Rock Hill in 2019. Prior to joining our team, she dedicated four years to working at the Humane Society of York County. With an extensive background in dog sitting and rescue operations, Michelle brings a wealth of knowledge to our practice. In her down time, she loves spending time with her two rescued dogs, Poppyseed and Joe Nelson, both mixed breeds. Additionally, she enjoys snowboarding and outdoor activities.
Shirona – Kennel Assistant
Shirona was born in Phoenix, Arizona but moved to South Carolina at the age of 3. She has always had a passion for animals and dreams of becoming a veterinarian or working in the animal field. Shirona started working at Palmetto Pet Hospital at age 14 and still loves it. She has owned a variety of pets, including lizards, fish, silkie chickens, a toad, three hamsters, and currently has two dogs and three cats named Nena, Ranger, Kitty, Pip, and Stormy. In her free time, Shirona enjoys doing art, taking her dogs out, being outdoors, and hiking.
Annamarie – Kennel Assistant
Annamarie grew up in Fort Mill, South Carolina and currently attends the University of South Carolina as a Biological Sciences major. She has worked at Palmetto Pet Hospital since 2019 and comes back to work in the kennel during school breaks. She loves taking care of all of the animals that board in the kennel!
Sara – Kennel Assistant
Sara was born and raised in Thousand Oaks, California until she was 5, and then moved to Fort Mill, South Carolina along with her sister Annamarie. Sara is going to the University of South Carolina and will be majoring in Biological Sciences. Sara loves taking care of animals and has two cute dogs of her own: a basset hound named Kobe and an old English Sheepdog named Charlie. In her free time, she enjoys watching Disney movies, swimming, spending time with family and friends, and baking.
Marley - Groomer
Marley grew up in Rock Hill, South Carolina, where she developed a strong love for dogs from a young age, even taking the time to learn about different breeds. She began her veterinary career in a kennel but soon found a love for grooming. In her free time, Marley loves camping, kayaking, traveling, painting, and engaging in creative projects.
